Yerevan’s nightlife has a reputation for being wild and thriving, offering a vast array of options to please locals and tourists alike. Filled with luminous streets ideal for walking, boisterous clubs, laid back lounges, world-class national and international restaurants, upscale wine bars and impressive cafes, as well as luxurious casinos and fine discothèques, Yerevan caters for all tastes and nationalities. While many bars may not serve all night long, others keep until late hours, becoming a social hub for hours’ fun. To bring you after-dark treats, here are some suggestions about Yerevan nightlife venues.
Bars/Pubs
Bars and pubs are usually where people choose to go to have a talk and beer with the accompaniment of good disco music. Retro music is welcomed in Yerevan pubs too.
One pub to be visited in Yerevan is the Metro Music Pub, which is though small in size, but is very much loved. Cheers pub located on Abovyan Street is another place where tourists and local Armenians love to meet. The music playing in the pub is most various. It’s where you will enjoy classic rock, reggae, funky and soul to ethnic Greek, Gypsy and Armenian music.
That Place Bar is a family owned bar where you will feel yourself like in a garage where bike lovers are greatly welcome. But it doesn’t mean the bar is meant for them and only, it’s just the design of the bar that completely shows the owners’ passion for bikes, but the bar istelf is always full of people of different tastes and preferences.
“Underground” pub located close to the Sakharov Square is where people of various nationalities and tastes come together and simply have fun. The bar offers great music and drinks. If someone tells you the bar doesn’t offer juices, don’t believe them; just consider that you might be the only person drinking juice there. It’s the only disco-bar that operates until 3-4 am, and sometimes until 5 am.
Jazz clubs
There are not so many jazz clubs in Yerevan, and in all Armenia. These clubs have started to spring up only in the recent years and are continuously expanding and flourishing. One of the best clubs is the Mezzo Classic Music House, which the locals refer to as an “elite taste” jazz club more meant for non-smokers, though for smokers there is the Cigar Zone. It’s the place where you will not only enjoy best jazz music, but will also feel relaxed due to the sweet jazz melodies and the friendly and careful staff, which will not leave you dissatisfied.
Clubs/Discos
The best place to hang out and dance is the Bunker which comes with a large lounge upstairs. It might be a bit expensive but it’s worth a visit. The club is usually visited by more up-class people. And there is always a professional DJ.
Another option is the Relax club, which more resembles a western club with a huge bar. The club features perfect sound. It’s one of the primary Yerevan night-life venues offering great parties. Party time in this club starts at around 10/10 pm and lasts until 3 am.
Club One is also where people choose to go at nights, and particularly after 3 am Club One is the club to host Relax club guests. It’s a small but exclusive club where house music dominates.
Strip Clubs/Night Clubs/Cabarets
Evolving, energetic and always exciting, Yerevan’s club scene demands to be experienced. Nightclubs like Omega, Pioneer and Cabaret Charlotte have interesting shows until 11-12 pm, and then the exotic dance and striptease shows start lasting until 4-5 am.
Check out the scene of Cabaret Charlotte, which never fails to dazzle with its original design achieved by the fusion of intimate coziness, luxury and comfort, show-ballets and dance groups, promising unforgettable feelings and lifetime experience. Omega Night Club is another known property and recommended spot in Yerevan, where you can unwind and relax in a warm, sexy atmosphere sure to take your breath away. Located in central Yerevan, on the vibrant Teryan Street, the club offers 3 rooms or sections, each with a different theme; add to this food and drinks to enjoy while you are entertained with a strip show or erotic dances.Keep in mind, that the club is 18+ and the staff will surely check your identification. Entrance fee is 3,500 Dram (around $ 10) and though it seems a little high compared to other night venues in Yerevan, what you are going to see inside is truly worth the extra bucks.
Casinos
Casinos in Armenia’s capital are bountiful, mainly located in the outskirts of the city, including the highway from the airport to Yerevan and other highways entering Yerevan from other directions. Yerevan casinos offer brick-and-mortar casino gambling and all kinds of services to enjoy the game in its full variety. Table games and slot machines, lotteries and tournaments with cash prizes are waiting for you in most of the city’s casinos. The most visited casino is Shangri La, which boasts 200 slot machines and video poker machines, plus 16 table games, all active 24-hours a day. Yerevan nightlife is definitely not limited to only pubs, clubs and so on, there are other things to do as well, like roaming around or visiting saunas, which is not so popular with the locals. One of the most visited saunas is the Bellagio Hotel Sauna, which offers the best sauna options and is perhaps the leading sauna in Yerevan, though the prices are not much affordable.
